About this role
The management of pharmacy finance is critical to success and goals at Mount Sinai Health System. Reporting to a pharmacy finance leader, this role supports process improvements and strategic initiatives related to the finance and accounting of pharmacy medications. It aids in achieving optimal drug availability.
Support MSHS Finance and Accounting Teams alongside Inventory Planning & Procurement teams that manage revenues, costs, and replenishment of medications across the system. Deploy inventory management practices for cost-efficient drug availability. Conduct data analytics and reporting to drive Pharmacy supply chain performance improvement.
Key focus areas include mitigation and management of medication shortages using technology and predictive ordering, automation of pharmacy stockroom inventory management, pharmaceutical contracting and GPO optimization, new product introduction and lifecycle management, and ensuring compliance with DSCSA provisions.
Work within the New York City metropolitan area at acute care sites or Corporate Services Center. Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking, data analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Project management ability with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of database software
- Preferred knowledge of inventory management software
- Analysis of data, developing core metrics and reports for performance measurement
Responsibilities
- Support the MSHS Finance and Accounting Teams alongside Inventory Planning & Procurement teams managing revenues, costs, and replenishment of medications
- Support deployment of inventory management practices achieving drug availability expectations in optimal cost-efficient manner
- Perform data analytics and reporting generating key insights driving Pharmacy supply chain performance improvement
- Mitigate and manage medication shortages leveraging technology and predictive ordering processes
- Automate pharmacy stockroom inventory management
- Optimize pharmaceutical contracting and GPO activities
- Manage new product introduction and lifecycle of pharmaceuticals
- Research and benchmark best practices in pharmacy finance, accounting, and supply chain optimization
