The Business Development Manager sells BioReliance® Contract Testing Services as an experienced field-based commercial role in the Midwest region. Work remotely while proactively driving growth in the sales territory.

Understand the biopharma industry to identify client needs and impact organizational results. Develop a detailed strategic plan to manage territory for short- and long-term revenue growth. Maintain regular presence with customers and map key stakeholders around projects and opportunities.

Build relationships and collaborate with internal partners like customer service, technical service, and field marketing. Lead presentations and coordinate resources for customer visits. Utilize sales tools such as CRM to document interactions and provide accurate forecasts.

Achieve quarterly and annual targets through competitive conversions, customer expansions, and timely inquiries. Be highly self-motivated, assertive, well-organized with excellent time management. Travel approximately 50% within territory including MT, ND, SD, NE, KS, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH, or KY.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related Life Science discipline
  • Commercial sales experience in the biotech industry
  • Deep understanding of the biopharma industry
  • Exceptional industry knowledge and sales skills to promote and sell Contract Testing Services
  • Highly self-motivated, assertive, and well-organized with excellent time management
  • Ability to build relationships, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quarterly and annual targets are achieved by gaining market share through competitive conversions, customer expansions, and timely reaction to inquiries
  • Develop a detailed strategic plan to manage territory and seed business for short- and long-term revenue growth
  • Maintain regular presence within territory and know customers well
  • Identify customer needs, goals, challenges and provide solutions through positioning of Biosafety Testing services
  • Inform, train, and influence customers
  • Identify and map key stakeholders and decision makers around projects and opportunities
  • Secure targeted meetings to identify and advance opportunities with customers
  • Provide accurate, detailed forecasts for territory and utilize sales tools like CRM
