Adjunct Faculty members provide quality and innovative instruction and meaningful engagement with students to achieve course, program, and degree level outcomes while supporting academic success. This aligns with CTU's mission to deliver industry-relevant higher education to diverse students through innovative technology and experienced faculty. They enable pursuit of personal and professional goals.

Prepare relevant, insightful, and engaging instructional materials using existing course content tailored to CTU's student population. Deliver instruction in assigned courses aligning with curricula, outcomes, instructional modalities, course technologies, and faculty expectations. Engage students through communication to encourage participation and learning while maintaining mutual respect and professionalism.

Relate professional and industry experience to CTU's Professional Learning Model by continuing skills development and introducing industry perspectives. Collaborate with Program Chair, Lead Faculty, advising teams, academic leadership, and University staff to support students. Maintain accessibility via telephone, CTU e-mail, and establish weekly office hours for student support.

Assess student performance, provide feedback for growth, and document activities. Participate in academic governance through meetings and assessment processes. Complete required new faculty certification, course-specific training, ethics, IT policy, and annual faculty development to ensure ongoing professional alignment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with proficiency in meeting deadlines and urgency in responding to questions/requests
  • Strong interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills
  • Proficiency in working effectively, cooperatively, and flexibly in a team environment
  • Proficiency with standard office and mobile applications including word processing, presentations, e-mail, calendaring, teleconferencing, text messaging, personal computers, and smart phones/tablets
  • Professional/industry experience relevant to career planning and management
  • Ability to relate industry trends and opportunities to course instruction
  • Experience supporting student academic success through assessment and feedback

Responsibilities

  • Prepare relevant, insightful, and engaging instructional materials and utilize existing course materials that support learning by CTU's student population
  • Provide instruction in assigned courses that aligns with CTU's curricula and outcomes, instructional modalities, course technologies, and faculty expectations
  • Engage and communicate with students to encourage their course participation and learning while maintaining mutual respect and professionalism
  • Relate professional/industry experience to CTU's Professional Learning Model by continuation of professional/technical skills development and introduction of industry perspectives
  • Maintain accessibility for and provide timely responsiveness to students, academic/faculty leadership, and University staff by telephone, CTU e-mail, and other means
  • Establish and maintain weekly office hours for student questions/support
  • Assess student performance on course assignments and provide assignment feedback to support continued student growth and development
  • Participate in CTU's academic governance through attendance at meetings and contribution to assessment and institutional effectiveness processes
