Pearson Virtual Schools is seeking a Content Developer to maintain and develop K-12 Social Studies curriculum from a home-based position. Reporting to the Manager of Curriculum Development, this role focuses on improving accuracy, alignment, and customer satisfaction through curriculum and assessment work.

Day-to-day responsibilities include writing, reviewing, and revising curriculum and assessments aligned to research-based literacy instruction. You will collaborate with a cross-functional Agile team to complete projects and features, consulting with teachers to support effective curriculum implementation.

You will be part of a flexible work environment that emphasizes work-life balance, with the ability to work from anywhere, anytime. Pearson requires a dedicated home office setup that meets privacy, technology, and equipment standards to ensure productivity and security.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to K-12 course development, including course maps, learning objectives, and activities that meet state and national standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field
  • Experience developing K-12 curriculum and assessments
  • Knowledge of state and national Social Studies standards
  • Strong writing and editing skills for educational content
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience using collaboration tools for remote teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with content development team, cross-functional Agile team members, and product management
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of curriculum development user stories
  • Consult with and support teachers in the creation and implementation of curriculum
  • Contribute to Social Studies K-12 course development including course maps, learning objectives, learning objects, and activities
  • Develop and revise Social Studies curriculum and assessments aligned to research-based literacy instruction
  • Work with a cross-functional Agile team to complete projects and features
  • Work with Product Development managers to ensure high-quality curricula and resources
  • Propose and implement new ways of working or procedures within own area
