About this role
Works under the direction of the Contracting Manager and collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to execute contract management, sourcing, and procurement of goods and services. Supports institution-wide supply chain contracting initiatives, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts. Manages contract renewals, modifications, ensures compliance with laws and UTMB policies, and maintains accurate records in procurement systems.
Manages a portfolio of contracts throughout the lifecycle process, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and ensuring compliance for various products and services. Collaborates with supply chain, legal, finance, and institutional stakeholders to evaluate sourcing opportunities and optimize terms. Works with Contract Administrator and Value Analysis teams on contracting and sourcing strategy execution.
Provides support to internal and external customers on contract details and compliance, utilizing data analytics for insights on sourcing, supplier value, and performance. Demonstrates communication skills to relay complex information to stakeholders and identifies, assesses, mitigates contract risks, escalating as needed. Maintains effective record keeping and fosters positive vendor relationships to meet business needs.
Monitors contract compliance with State, UT System, and UTMB requirements, assisting with audit-related documents. Performs related duties as assigned, contributing to overall supply chain efficiency in a healthcare environment. Opportunities to develop expertise in healthcare contracting and analytics for leadership reporting.
Requirements
- Knowledge of contract lifecycle management in supply chain
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts for goods and services
- Familiarity with procurement systems and record management
- Understanding of compliance with state laws, institutional policies, and healthcare regulations
- Proficiency in data analytics for sourcing and contract performance insights
- Skills in risk assessment and mitigation for contracts
- Ability to collaborate across supply chain, legal, and finance teams
- Experience supporting vendor selection and relationship management
