About this role

The Random House Children's Books Marketing department is seeking an Assistant to join the Audience Engagement team, overseeing digital marketing for books for children of all ages including paid advertising, social media, newsletters, websites, and influencer promotions.

This role supports the division's digital marketing efforts with a focus on paid media, and assists with project management and coordination of various digital marketing tasks. The role works across two distinct channels: Random House Kids, targeting parents, caregivers, and gatekeepers; and The Underlined channel, targeting teen and crossover adult readers.

RHCB is home to bestselling authors like Ms. Rachel, Holly Jackson, Nic Stone, Christopher Paolini, and classic children's brands like Magic Tree House and Dr. Seuss. The assistant will report to the Senior Director, Audience Engagement Strategy and work with the RHCB Marketing & Publicity team.

This is a hybrid role based in New York City, offering the opportunity to work alongside the PRH Ad Operations & Media Buying teams and the PRH Performance Marketing team, providing exposure to the full scope of children's book marketing.

  • Ability to manage and track multiple projects with competing deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Maintain processes and track projects for the team, overseeing weekly Audience Engagement project status meetings and proactively communicating due dates
  • Manage the design and asset creation workflow in partnership with the Marketing Design team, including adding tasks to the project management system and routing assets for approval
  • Build and manage the team's advertising grid, populating campaigns on a seasonal basis and updating budgets and run dates
  • Support advertising process tasks including vendor booking, influencer deliverables, tracking campaign status, and compiling analytics
  • Process all team invoices and new vendor setup forms, tracking payment and updating budget documents
  • Organize and coordinate Audience Engagement team book shipments to influencers, external vendors, content creation partners, and prize winners
  • Assist with administrative projects such as taking meeting notes, writing copy, building seasonal tracking grids, and managing the team file storage system
