About this role
TE Connectivity is seeking an R&D Scientist/Engineer for its newly formed Artificial Intelligence team to create an AI Hub in Singapore. Team members collaborate with R&D peers, business unit partners, local universities, and government research centers. Projects embed AI in TE’s design and process development workflows for competitive advantage.
The Singapore Corporate R&D Center partners with CTOs and Advanced Development Groups to identify technical areas and develop forward-looking technologies. TE is expanding Artificial Intelligence capabilities as part of its Digitalization strategy. This improves New Product Development efficiency, decreases costs, and reduces time to market.
Design, implement, and deploy an enterprise-scale agentic AI platform supporting engineering users in product design and manufacturing process development. Develop agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks while providing technical support and guidance. Ensure robust, scalable, and reliable system performance.
Collaborate with multiple business units, IT, and global engineering teams to define platform strategy, including scalability and governance. Partner with Singapore research institutes to develop advanced AI techniques and facilitate knowledge transfer. Identify latest AI developments to continuously improve platform capabilities.
Create awareness across TE of the Singapore Corporate R&D Center's AI modeling capabilities. Evaluate external vendors and drive program execution for business impact. Work in a diverse environment unleashing potential for a safer, sustainable, connected world.
Requirements
- Master degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8-12 years relevant experience (or Bachelor with 10-15 years, or PhD)
- Expertise in LLMs, multi-agent/agentic AI frameworks and relevant programming skills
- Enterprise AI platform deployment experience with architecture knowledge (cloud, DevOps, MLOps)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to lead programs independently
- Experience in effective project management strategies and tactics
- Basic understanding of engineering knowledge such as materials/manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with TE products, such as connectors, cables, sensors
Responsibilities

- Identify and apply the latest developments in AI technology and high-performance computing to improve the platform
- Create awareness across TE of the AI modeling capabilities of the Singapore Corporate R&D Center
- Partner with Singapore research institutes to develop advanced AI techniques and assist with validation and knowledge transfer
