About this role

Create and publish engaging, shareable, social-first content for Random House Children’s Books’ young reader vertical, @randomhousekids. Help shape social content strategy for the world’s largest children’s book publisher. Collaborate on campaigns for bestselling brands such as Magic Tree House, Junie B. Jones, Dr. Seuss, Little Golden Books, and licensed properties including Disney, Sesame Street, National Geographic Kids.

Manage day-to-day community engagement across social platforms, responding to comments and messages in a timely, brand-appropriate voice while maintaining professionalism. Proactively engage audiences through comments, direct messages, and outreach to deepen relationships. Manage content scheduling and publishing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with content plans.

Write clear, compelling, platform-native copy and create social-first static and video content using Canva, CapCut, Edits, and mobile-first tools. Partner with the RHCB creative team to concept and develop social assets for @randomhousekids and brand accounts. Plan, design, and publish Instagram Stories with focus on visual storytelling and engagement.

Support the Senior Manager in managing content partners and production, contributing to creative direction and @randomhousekids voice. Collaborate cross-functionally with Editorial, Marketing, Publicity, Sales teams. Assist with analytics, influencer initiatives, logistics for shoots, and outbound shipments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in social media, community management, or digital content creation in a corporate setting
  • Strong understanding of current social media platforms and best practices, including Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, Edits, and other mobile-first editing platforms
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment around brand voice, audience sensitivity, and platform dynamics
  • Experience maintaining professionalism and consistency in community responses
  • Familiarity with analytics for pulling social performance data and identifying insights
  • Skills in visual storytelling for Instagram Stories and social assets

  • Plan, design, and publish Instagram Stories on a regular basis with focus on visual storytelling
  • Assist with social analytics by pulling performance data, building reports, and identifying actionable insights
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Editorial, Marketing, Publicity, and Sales teams
