About this role

Oowlish, one of Latin America's rapidly expanding software development companies, is seeking a Shopify eCommerce Lead to join our diverse team. This hybrid role blends client relationship management with hands-on UX/UI design and CRO work.

Half your time you'll be managing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring our Shopify practice runs well. The other half, you'll be directly improving stores through hands-on design and conversion rate optimization.

You'll work closely with our Shopify development team, marketing team, and directly with clients from the United States and Europe. We offer the convenience of remote work, allowing you to craft a work-life balance that suits your personal and professional needs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in eCommerce, with a strong UX/UI design background applied to Shopify or similar platforms.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships in agency, consulting, or service-based environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), including testing, analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing eCommerce UX/UI work, ideally focused on Shopify stores.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and take ownership of outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with Shopify or Shopify Plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day client relationships across retainer accounts and project engagements, ensuring requests are resolved and communication is proactive.
  • Establish a structured rhythm for each client through regular check-ins, roadmap reviews, performance discussions, and ongoing recommendations.
  • Perform hands-on UX/UI design work, including landing pages, product pages, checkout experiences, campaign assets, and full store redesigns.
  • Conduct CRO analysis and execution by identifying friction points, proposing and running tests, and translating data into actionable design improvements.
  • Coordinate with SEO, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and other specialists to ensure initiatives are aligned and executed successfully.
  • Oversee delivery for the development team, ensuring projects are properly scoped, developers have the right context, and priorities align with client goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities and strategic recommendations to increase value for each client while strengthening long-term partnerships.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Shopify practice by helping define service offerings, target markets, and operational improvements.
