We seek a Learning Environment Specialist for our Product Services team to support schools nationwide in designing spaces with furniture and materials for diverse learners. This role employs education expertise to produce 2-D and 3-D drawings aligned with curriculum, licensing, and standards.

A typical day involves reviewing requests for education spaces, interpreting blueprints, developing plans based on student enrollment, and selecting furniture that meets aesthetic and functional needs. You will create drawings, renderings, and design deliverables to communicate intent clearly. In-depth product selection covers indoor and outdoor environments, including desks, tables, chairs, storage, carpets, and learning materials.

Partner with colleagues to present Lakeshore’s vision to educators and administrators, addressing questions thoughtfully. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • 5+ years of classroom experience or exposure to curriculum development
  • Strong design sensibilities
  • Sharp creative and spatial problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Lakeshore product lines for early learning/K–12 settings
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Reader; working knowledge of design software like CAP/CET Designer

Responsibilities

  • Review requests for education spaces, including reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Develop plans based on student enrollment and select furniture meeting aesthetic and functional needs
  • Create drawings, renderings, and other design deliverables that clearly communicate design intent
  • Perform in-depth product selection for indoor and outdoor classroom environments, including desks, tables, chairs, storage units, carpets, and supplemental learning materials
  • Partner with colleagues to present Lakeshore’s vision to educators and administrators while addressing questions and concerns
  • Support schools across the country in creating learning environments filled with furniture and materials for a wide range of learners
