About this role

This remote role seeks a Senior Technical Lead / Solution Architect to define the end-to-end target architecture for a large-scale enterprise data platform. You will lead the design of data integration, data engineering, and analytics solutions while setting technical standards across the team. The focus is on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance data products.

Day-to-day involves translating business and analytical requirements into scalable, modular solution designs and selecting patterns like data lake, lakehouse, or event-driven architectures. You will define non-functional requirements for performance, availability, security, and scalability. Hands-on work includes overseeing data ingestion, integration, storage, processing, governance, and consumption layers.

Collaborate closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, overseeing multiple delivery squads. Provide technical leadership to data integration engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and developers. Engage in architecture review boards and technical design walkthroughs with internal and external stakeholders.

Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, unblock complex issues, and drive vendor evaluations with proof-of-concepts. Ensure compliance with enterprise security, data governance, and regulatory requirements while enforcing DevOps, DataOps, and CI/CD practices. Own technical quality across environments and maintain architecture documents and decision logs.

Requirements

6–10+ years of experience in data and integration architecture, including hands-on engineering background
Deep expertise in modern data platforms, including cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent)
Data lake / lakehouse / data warehouse design patterns
Streaming and batch architectures (Kafka, Spark, Flink, etc.)
Strong experience designing ETL/ELT and data integration pipelines
Solid understanding of data modeling (3NF, dimensional, data vault) and metadata management
Experience with API-led integration, microservices, and event-driven design
Hands-on familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and DataOps tooling

Responsibilities

Define the end-to-end target architecture for the data platform, covering ingestion, integration, storage, processing, governance, and consumption layers
Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable, modular, and reusable solution designs
Select appropriate patterns (data lake, lakehouse, data warehouse, event-driven, batch/streaming) and reference technologies
Provide technical leadership across data integration engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and developers
Set engineering standards, coding guidelines, design review processes, and architecture governance
Partner with business stakeholders, program leadership, and enterprise architects to align technical direction with business outcomes
Drive vendor and tool evaluations; lead proof-of-concepts and technology selection
Ensure the architecture complies with enterprise security, data governance, and regulatory requirements
