Director of Software & Product
3w3 weeks agoSnapMagic
Redwood City, US · Full-time · $200,000 – $250,000
About this role
SnapMagic is building the digital growth engine for the global electronics industry. Our platform already reaches 2M+ engineers annually, and we are scaling SnapMagic Copilot on a proprietary dataset of 10M+ components. This is a category-defining opportunity to lead product and engineering.
You will personally build and ship production-quality software until the motion is proven, operating in tight feedback loops with users. You own SnapMagic Copilot, including LLM workflows, training loops, evaluation, and recommendation systems. You run weekly execution loops focused on shipped outcomes, not activity.
You will partner closely with the CEO on product direction and priorities while making pragmatic technical tradeoffs. Our team is passionate, low-ego, and fast-moving, operating with a high bar. We work hybrid — in office Monday, Wednesday, Friday; remote Tuesday and Thursday.
The role has two phases: first build personally and define the execution motion; then hire and lead a team that compounds velocity. Since our seed round, we’ve doubled revenue with a small team. The market is ready for a leader who can turn momentum into a fast, repeatable shipping machine.
Requirements
- Deeply obsessed with the craft of building products, cares about building scalable systems, and ships relentlessly
- Has personally built and shipped complex systems at a fast-growing, VC-backed company
- Comfortable being in the details longer than you’d like because that’s what building requires
- Actively tests ideas in production and adjusts based on real user behavior
- Does the unglamorous work like clockwork: debugging, triage, instrumentation, iteration, metrics
- Takes feedback eagerly from users, data, and teammates and turns it directly into execution
- Holds yourself to standards higher than anyone else will
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production-quality software personally until the motion is proven
- Set the bar for speed and quality through example, system design, and execution
- Operate in tight feedback loops with users — shipping, learning, and iterating continuously
- Own outcomes, roadmaps, and metrics end to end
- Own SnapMagic Copilot, including LLM workflows, training loops, evaluation, and iteration speed
- Own recommendation and relevance systems and continuously improve them through usage data
- Scale a high-traffic platform and ads system under real production load
- Partner closely with the CEO on product direction and priorities
Benefits
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) – non-matching
