The Enterprise Solutions Engineer partners directly with Sales to provide technical leadership through intricate deal cycles, value-based demonstrations, and trusted advisory during evaluations. You will identify, build, and demonstrate Smartsheet solutions solving specific customer problems while leading technical sales engagements. Collaborate with sales teams to uncover requirements, summarize challenges, design solutions, and offer technical guidance showcasing Smartsheet's value. Conduct discovery sessions to inform sales and solution strategies.
As part of the Go To Market Enterprise Solutions Engineering team, work remotely in Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones. Partner with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Professional Services for exceptional customer experiences and revenue growth. Participate in cross-functional projects supporting strategic initiatives.
Grow knowledge of Smartsheet products, services, and competitors while providing feedback to Product teams aligning solutions with customer needs. Periodically travel to customer sites as a technical expert. Join a mission blending challenge, purpose, and passion into progress.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a PreSales Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Solution Architect, or related field in the SaaS and enterprise B2B software industry
- Critical thinking skills, a growth mindset, and experience analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing complex problems
- Strong technical skills and comfort working in ambiguous and high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Relentless curiosity and a commitment to excellence
Responsibilities
- Identify, build, and demonstrate Smartsheet solutions that solve specific customer problems
- Lead technical sales engagements and collaborate with sales teams to identify requirements, summarize challenges, design solutions, and provide technical guidance
- Conduct discovery sessions to uncover business processes and challenges informing sales and solution delivery strategy
- Partner with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams to deliver great customer experiences and drive revenue growth
- Grow and maintain knowledge of all Smartsheet products, services, and competitors
- Participate in cross-functional and department-wide projects supporting strategic initiatives
- Provide feedback to Product teams ensuring solutions align with customer needs
- Periodically travel to customer sites as a technical subject matter expert
