This role suits someone with hustle, a real love for designing and building, and a strong visual design eye. You'll take a defined brief from your PM, run with it creatively, and come back quickly with directions the team can react to, ideating broadly rather than polishing one answer.

You'll have a support network of a design team, product managers, your design manager and engineers to help you grow in your craft and career. You'll actively use AI tools to build and prototype faster than by hand, contributing to how Airtasker shows up in an AI-first world.

Requirements

A strong visual design eye and solid visual craft
Understanding of UX patterns so designs look and feel right even on first pass
Ability to ideate quickly and generate many possible approaches
Curiosity and readiness to use AI design and prototyping tools (no coding background needed)
Comfort working with a defined problem brief and running with it independently
Collaborative mindset to stay close with product managers and engineers

Responsibilities

Take a defined brief from your PM and come back quickly with creative directions the team can react to
Ideate fast and broadly using sketches, flows, wireframes, and AI-built prototypes
Apply a strong visual design eye and solid understanding of UX patterns
Contribute to how Airtasker appears in AI searches and the Airtasker MCP experience
Design localised content and page experiences for AU, UK and US markets
Use AI tools to build and prototype, exploring more directions than possible by hand
Ship and iterate by getting tangible prototypes or thin slices in front of users early
Collaborate closely with your PM and engineers, documenting interactions and visual specs
