About this role
The Career Services Advisor at CIAT plays a pivotal role in assisting students and alumni with career development and job search efforts. You will work closely with current and graduate students to ensure ACCET placement and graduation rates. Join a dynamic, forward-thinking institution dedicated to empowering career goals.
Conduct one-on-one career counseling to help students identify strengths, interests, and goals. Provide guidance on resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Review LinkedIn profiles and recommend optimizations for networking and industry groups.
Report to the Director of Career Services and collaborate interdepartmentally with academic, student services, and admissions staff. Partner with local and national employers to create job opportunities and facilitate career fairs, networking events, and workshops. Adhere to compliance requirements and communication guidelines for high customer satisfaction.
Develop career programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance employability skills. Maintain databases of job listings, internships, and resources while tracking placements in Dynamics. Stay current on industry trends through conferences and ongoing training to embody CIAT’s mission and values.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in career counseling, advising, placement, or related fields
- Knowledge of career development theories, assessment tools, vocational school placement expectations
- Familiarity with resume writing, interview coaching, and job search strategies
- Proficiency in using career services software and online job platforms
- Knowledge of Handshake a plus
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Responsibilities
