About this role
The role of the Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to write original course content and assessments for online and hybrid courses. The SME works with the Program Director and Course Development team to create content within Course Development guidelines and with Academic leadership approval. Time commitment and compensation is commensurate with content creation expectations.
SMEs focus on undergraduate Psychology courses in Psychology of Creativity, Applied Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. They write content and assessments aligning with course objectives and program outcomes. Content includes original work and cited materials demonstrating content expertise.
Work remotely with excellent written and verbal communication skills for timely collaboration. Partner with Academic Leadership, Instructional Designers, and Project Managers to edit, modify, and finalize content through the developmental process. Understand Academic goals and Learning Model to enhance course design.
Perform contracted duties within specified timelines per addendum. Create post-secondary content that is career-focused, challenging, and aligned with professional standards. Availability for communication supports remote finalization of courses.
Requirements
- Advanced degree from an institution regionally accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- 3-5 years of professional experience
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Applied Psychology or Industrial/Organizational Psychology; or out of field graduate degree with 18+ graduate semester hours in field/subfield; or out of field graduate degree with 5+ years' documented professional experience in field/subfield
- Teaching experience, preferably online
- Expertise in undergraduate Psychology courses: Psychology of Creativity, Applied Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Content expertise within the specified field of study
- Ability to create post-secondary original course content that is career-focused and challenging
Responsibilities
- Write original course content and assessments to align with course objectives and program outcomes

- Collaborate with Academic Leadership, Instructional Designers, and Project Managers to edit, change, or modify content
- Communicate information throughout the developmental process to finalization

- Handle other duties as assigned or requested
