About this role

As a Cloud Native R&D Intern, you will directly participate in the design, development, and maintenance of core components for the Genie Studio platform product. This role offers exposure to the full chain from algorithms and large models to infrastructure and robot hardware.

Daily work centers on Kubernetes-based systems in hybrid cloud environments, covering multi-cloud management, edge cluster management, private deployment, resource management, GPU device optimization, container orchestration, and runtime tuning.

You will help build and maintain foundational services including container networking, RDMA, storage solutions, edge node management, observability tooling for logs and monitoring, plus Infrastructure as Code improvements for private cloud deployments.

The internship provides opportunities to track cloud native ecosystem trends, explore AI and edge computing technologies, and coordinate with SRE teams on system optimization and deployment issues.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in a computer-related major with solid computer fundamentals.
Strong foundation in Golang programming.
Solid knowledge of data structures and computing systems.
Proactive thinker with hands-on ability, technical enthusiasm, and interest in solving challenging problems; preference for candidates interested in cloud native and AI Infra.
Experience with Docker or Kubernetes usage or secondary development is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud native open source projects such as OpenYurt, KubeEdge, Volcano, or Koordinator is preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the Kubernetes-based Genie Studio platform core system in hybrid cloud scenarios, including multi-cloud management, edge cluster management, private deployment, resource management, GPU optimization, container orchestration, and runtime tuning.
Assist in building and maintaining foundational services such as container networking, RDMA, DNS, load balancing, file and object storage, edge node management, and observability with logs, monitoring, alerting, and tracing.
Coordinate with SRE teams on system optimization and issue resolution to ensure smooth project deployment and implementation.
Track developments in the cloud native ecosystem and explore new technologies related to cloud native AI and edge computing.
Track Infrastructure as Code advancements and explore new techniques to improve private cloud deployment capabilities.
