Associate Tutors play a vital role in learner success by quality assuring portfolios across these specialisms.

Work remotely within online learning platforms to internal quality assure learner e-portfolios in line with qualification specifications and awarding body requirements. Support subject lead IQA and IQAs to achieve targets and contribute to academic effectiveness. Maximise opportunities for learners in wildlife, marine biology, and conservation.

Operate under a completely flexible remote working model on a self-employed Contract for Services basis. Organise and manage your own workload while maintaining high standards, with direct contact to Head of Faculty for caseload management and learner queries. Actively contribute to standardisation meetings as requested.

Maintain subject expertise through CPD and uphold organisation policies including Safeguarding and GDPR. Provide feedback to tutors and report on IQA activities. Join a faculty-driven team focused on inspiring and transforming lives through accessible education.

Requirements

  • Degree in Zoology, Ecology and Conservation, Conservation Biology/Ecology, Wildlife Conservation, Marine Biology or related disciplines
  • Holds a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or equivalent
  • Holds an assessing/teaching qualification
  • Substantial experience working in or assessing qualifications in animal care subject sector
  • Familiar with assessment requirements of relevant qualifications
  • Experience of internal quality assurance in vocational setting
  • Extensive subject knowledge
  • Experience using a CRM preferred

Responsibilities

  • Internal quality assurance of learner e-portfolios
  • Actively contribute to standardisation meetings as requested by Head of Faculty
  • Uphold Internal Quality Assurance processes, working with awarding bodies
  • Provide support to individual assessors and assessment teams on course requirements and assessment
  • Report on monthly IQA reports
  • Maintain appropriate subject knowledge through CPD
  • Assist in tracking and reporting learner progress
  • Maintain robust IQA records and provide feedback to tutors and Head of Faculty
