Axon

Boston, US · Full-time · $74,250 – $118,800

About this role

Axon is scaling its global manufacturing operations, and the finance team behind that growth needs sharp, detail-oriented analysts to keep it running with precision. As a Senior Cost Accounting Analyst on our Cost Accounting team, you'll sit at the intersection of finance and operations, owning month-end close activities and driving inventory and variance analysis.

In this newly created, high-visibility role, you will own month-end close for cost accounting, lead inventory reserve management, and drive cost variance analysis across multiple business segments and legal entities. You'll prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reserves, reclassifications, and allocations, and support standard cost processes in the ERP system.

You will partner directly with FP&A, Supply Chain Controllership, and Operations leaders to explain budget-to-actual variances and serve as a trusted resource on cost accounting treatment and inventory transactions. The team is fast-paced, challenging, and meaningful, where you'll take ownership and drive real change.

As this team scales, you will proactively identify opportunities to streamline close processes, improve reporting accuracy, and build scalable cost accounting infrastructure. Your work directly shapes how Axon understands and manages the cost of bringing life-saving technology to market.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on GAAP compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness.
  • Proactive mindset with a drive to identify and implement process improvements in a scaling organization.
