Kubikware is a digital agency with 20+ years of experience designing and developing web and mobile platforms, video games, AR/VR apps, and AI/ML. Headquartered in Miami, FL with a strong South American team serving US clients across verticals. We seek a Senior Azure Cloud / Platform Engineer in Latin America for a short-term, high-impact engagement supporting AI-driven application infrastructure.

Focus on the infrastructure and platform layer of modern AI applications using hands-on expertise in Apache Airflow, PostgreSQL query optimization, Microsoft Azure, and Kubernetes containerized environments. Handle production data pipelines, Python-based data processing, backend logic, ETL processes, data modeling, and integrations with APIs and external data sources.

Work independently with ownership in a small team environment alongside distributed teams. Collaborate with U.S.-based teams requiring MST/PT overlap. Demonstrate strong communication skills in fast-paced, production-heavy settings.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform / Backend Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Apache Airflow (required)
PostgreSQL (2–3+ years, including query optimization and performance tuning)
Microsoft Azure (required)
Kubernetes and containerized environments
Strong Python skills for data processing and backend logic
Experience working with production data pipelines and troubleshooting live systems
Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data quality

Responsibilities

Support infrastructure and platform layer of modern AI-driven applications
Orchestrate production data pipelines using Apache Airflow
Optimize PostgreSQL databases including query optimization and performance tuning
Deploy and manage Kubernetes and containerized environments on Microsoft Azure
Develop Python code for data processing and backend logic
Integrate with APIs and external data sources
Troubleshoot live production systems
Implement data modeling, ETL processes, and data quality measures
