About this role

GHD is seeking an Intern for projects in environmental remediation and natural resources services. This paid internship targets students who self-identify as Indigenous, providing experience in a consulting environment. Contribute to sustainable infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and community development with public and private clients across Atlantic Canada.

Work with an energetic, high-performing team on tasks like assisting with communications, participating in site visits and field work, conducting project research, and preparing documentation such as funding applications and reports. Support administrative tasks and join design and project team meetings. Gain hands-on involvement in multidisciplinary projects.

Requirements

  • Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations – status or non-status, Métis, or Inuit)
  • Post-secondary education (currently enrolled or recent graduate), or equivalent combination of education and work/life experience
  • Preference for candidates in engineering and science
  • Demonstrate interest in science, engineering, architecture, construction, and/or the environment through work, education, and/or volunteer experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client, contractor, and internal communications, including preparation of reports, presentations and meeting records
  • Participate in project-related site visits and field work to support project understanding and activities
  • Conduct research related to projects
  • Prepare documentation, including funding applications, project progress and completion reports, and project memorandums
  • Provide support for project administrative tasks
  • Participate in design and project team meetings
