Requirements

  • Understanding of modern data engineering principles and the data lifecycle
  • Awareness of enterprise data governance, metadata, and quality requirements
  • Experience in managing data across on-prem and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Databricks)
  • Understanding of data modelling principles and SQL-based analytics with proficiency in Python
  • Experience building pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, and Delta Lake
  • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD processes (e.g. GitLab)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data pipelines and workflows supporting data ingestion, transformation, and delivery
  • Ensure data is captured, stored, and made accessible in a secure, scalable, and reusable manner
  • Understand enterprise data architecture and governance policies to ensure compliance and traceability
  • Work under general direction, exercising substantial autonomy in identifying and resolving data engineering issues
  • Collaborate with data platform, product, and analytics teams to ensure data accessibility for analytics and AI/ML
  • Participate in external activities or industry groups relevant to data engineering and platform design
  • Support continuous improvement in data engineering practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing
