IPAR is a national occupational rehabilitation provider supporting people with illness, disability, or injury through workplace rehabilitation, counselling, injury prevention, and employment. The Far North QLD IPAR Team has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Rehabilitation Consultant based in Mackay. Provide occupational rehabilitation services to clients with physical and psychological conditions across Mackay and surrounding regions.

Experienced Allied Health Professionals from Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology backgrounds will enjoy autonomy, flexibility, variety, and the ability to structure their own day. Manage caseloads with support from Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks. Partner collaboratively with injured workers, employers, medical, and allied health professionals.

Apply clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes and conduct assessments using discipline-specific skills. Complete Functional Capacity Evaluations, Worksite Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments, and Activities of Daily Living Assessments. Work with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs.

Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology
  • Full Professional Registration/Accreditation as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills to confidently liaise with insurers, medical practitioners, employers and employees
  • Evidence of accurate information gathering and analysis to provide thorough and comprehensive assessments
  • Strong ability to perform independently
  • Experience as an Allied Health Professional from Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Physiology background

Responsibilities
