About this role

We are seeking a versatile specialist to balance hands-on field operations with technical support duties. This dual-function role splits time approximately half on-site for installations and repairs, half at a computer providing technical guidance for the back-office team. You serve as a bridge between physical equipment in the field and internal data systems.

In field operations, install, program, and configure submeters and communication systems in multifamily and retail environments. Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs on water, gas, and electric submeters. Diagnose performance or data transmission issues using hand tools and technical software while adhering to safety guidelines at heights and in cramped spaces.

Provide support to other field technicians facing technical challenges and offer clear explanations to clients and leadership on issues and resolutions. Research complex or unfamiliar systems for timely solutions. Interact with property managers and residents to explain system functionality and address concerns.

Manage time effectively between field and remote work with 50% travel via flight or company vehicle on a Monday-Friday schedule, occasional weekends. Full training on meter systems provided, up to 6 weeks with possible travel. Equipment includes company vehicle, gas card, laptop, cell phone, and tools.

Requirements

Proficiency with Windows-based laptops, including basic experience with Excel and Gmail
Strong mechanical inclination and experience working with a variety of hand tools
Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly, both verbally and in writing
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
Ability to work independently and maintain productivity under pressure
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Must have a Real ID for domestic air travel
Secure area to park a company vehicle, designated home workspace, and access to high-speed internet

Responsibilities
