In this role, you will design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams using Java, Ruby, Scala, and Go. You will engineer payments integration with various financial partners' software systems and debug production issues across multiple levels of the stack.

You will work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale, and integrate observability tools like Datadog and Prometheus into high-traffic production systems. This includes defining SLAs and real-time diagnostics to meet the reliability standards required by financial partners.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead technical design reviews, and establish best practices in code quality, system design, and deployment strategies. Requirements

2 years of software development experience
2 years of experience working with Java, Scala, Python and AWS
2 years of experience implementing industry standard design patterns
2 years of software engineering experience building full-stack web applications at scale
2 years of experience with database management
2 years of experience using SQL and related query languages to perform data analysis

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams using Java, Ruby, Scala, and Go
Engineer payments integration with various financial partners' software systems
Design APIs and underlying data models to support complex financial abstractions and multi-party integrations
Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
Integrate observability tools and alerting mechanisms (Datadog, Prometheus) into high-traffic production systems
Mentor junior engineers, lead technical design reviews, and establish best practices in code quality, system design, and resilience engineering
Build new systems to securely store sensitive data and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
