About this role

Parachute Health is transforming post-acute care through the leading digital ordering platform for medical equipment and supplies, replacing the outdated, error-prone paper and fax process. We are seeking an engineering manager to grow our engineers and our engineering practice as a practicing manager.

This hybrid individual contributor/manager role involves hands-on coding up to 50% of the time in an agile environment with TDD and flexible pair programming. You will consistently deliver quality code that supports business goals, collaborating with product and design to shape the application.

You will join a team dedicated to removing HME ordering bottlenecks and streamlining the flow of clinical information between prescribers and payors. The team's mission is to eliminate communication friction, deliver coverage policy transparency, and ensure patients receive timely care, while collaborating cross-functionally to deploy AI features.

As an engineering manager, you will coach up to 5 engineers in their career growth and improvement, guiding the engineering practice across teams to create more effective methods. This role offers the chance to make a difference in patient care while driving technical innovation in healthcare.

Requirements

  • Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, or other open source programming languages
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering software in a production environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience
  • Must reside in the U.S.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies including TDD and pair programming
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering design patterns and principles
  • Experience coaching and mentoring engineers
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on product and design
