This is a key hands-on role within our Pay Rates domain, helping shape and build next-generation pay interpretation and compliance features. Automate complex award and agreement logic, deliver exceptional user experiences, and utilize data-driven insights for scalability and efficiency. Leverage experience to make meaningful impact on initiatives.
Collaborate closely with peers, product, design, and leadership to build outstanding products for the Deputy platform. Deliver services to millions of users and businesses, from small enterprises to large corporations. Drive quality outcomes by combining strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
- 5+ years experience delivering quality software
- Hands-on technical expertise to drive solutions for complex challenges
- Experience researching and introducing new technologies
- Ability to lead solution design and development of key projects
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving to tackle complex challenges
- Experience building scalable backend services and APIs
- Familiarity with data-driven insights for efficiency and compliance features
Responsibilities
- Make technical decisions and deliver technical solutions using hands-on expertise
- Research, create POCs, and introduce new technologies to the team
- Uphold high engineering standards and coordinate with Infrastructure and Quality
- Collaborate with Product and Design to discover and estimate solution options
- Deliver technical solutions within estimated timeframes
- Operate in a get-things-done, value-demonstrating, iterative manner
- Influence and problem-solve with senior, mid, and junior engineers
- Mentor mid and junior engineers and participate in team leadership activities
