About this role
Under general direction, the Network Engineer possesses in-depth understanding of networking hardware and software, with hands-on experience in Cisco routing and switching, Palo Alto firewalls, Load Balancers, Meraki Wireless, and Network Automation. They play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure. This ensures optimal performance and availability in a hybrid position from the Bloomington, IL office.
Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability, tuning and optimizing as necessary. Conduct regular network performance tests and prepare reports on performance and incident response. Troubleshoot network issues and outages while developing strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Provide tactical design direction and recommendations for developing solution roadmaps. Collaborate with solution architecture and solution delivery teams to build new products and improve existing ones. Operationalize solutions through documentation, automation of common tasks, and maturing processes.
Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and monitoring access. Research and consult with resources and industry experts to ensure solution effectiveness. Use network automation tools to streamline and enhance processes continually.
Requirements
- Active Cisco CCNA required
- Proven experience with Cisco and Meraki Switches, Firewall, Wireless, Identity Services Engine
- Proven experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
- Proven experience with SD-WAN
- Proven experience with Public Cloud Design
- Proven experience with Load balancing and WAF
- Proven experience with Network Monitoring Tools
- Proven experience with Routing Protocols including BGP, communities, community lists, route-maps, OSPF, tagging, redistribution
Responsibilities
