Suger helps B2B software companies sell through cloud marketplaces like AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, Alibaba, and Snowflake, one of the fastest-growing enterprise sales channels. Suger removes operational complexity in pricing, contracting, billing, revenue recognition, and compliance with an API-first revenue platform. As part-time Bookkeeper, you'll own day-to-day financial record-keeping to keep Suger running cleanly.

This execution-oriented role involves maintaining accurate books, processing payables and receivables, reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. You'll work closely with founders and operations team to ensure books are accurate, reconciled, and audit-ready. Expect some ambiguity in our fast-moving startup as you build lightweight processes.

This is a part-time remote role at 15-20 hours per week with occasional in-person office meetings as needed. We're comfortable operating asynchronously with a distributed team. Self-directed reliability is key to managing your schedule without close supervision.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a startup or SaaS environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals and standard bookkeeping practices
  • High attention to detail - catch errors others miss
  • Self-directed and reliable: manage own schedule and deadlines without close supervision
  • Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously with a distributed team

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries across all accounts
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for internal review
  • Support external accountants during tax filings and audits by organizing and providing required documentation
  • Track and categorize expenses across departments
  • Identify and flag discrepancies proactively before they become issues
