Manchester, GB · Internship · £18,000 – £22,000

About this role

RealityMine has been a pioneer in delivering data-driven insights to the media and market research industries for over a decade. Our platform provides unique and actionable data solutions to top brands and partners worldwide, empowering them to make informed, strategic decisions.

We're looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our Data Products team. You'll systematically explore mobile and desktop applications, using our in-house tooling to identify, capture, and validate key data points. The role sits at the intersection of QA and data - you'll define what to capture from app sessions and ensure it is extracted accurately and reliably.

You'll work closely with the wider team to build and manage a library of test scenarios, supporting ongoing development and regression testing. You'll also document coverage and findings clearly, helping maintain the quality and reliability of our data extraction workflows.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop skills at the intersection of QA and data, working with AI-assisted internal tooling. You'll gain hands-on experience with mobile and desktop platforms while contributing to real-world data solutions used by top brands.

Requirements

  • Experience in software testing, QA, or a similar analytical role
  • Comfortable navigating mobile and desktop applications in a methodical, exploratory way
  • Familiarity with structured data formats (e.g. JSON, XML) - comfortable reading and editing structured definitions
  • Strong attention to detail and pattern recognition
  • Experience with Android and/or iOS devices
  • Keen interest or willingness working with AI and AI-assisted tools

Responsibilities

  • Systematically exercise applications across Android, iOS, and desktop platforms, following defined scenarios and discovering new paths
  • Analyse application behaviour to identify where meaningful data is situated
  • Author and maintain structured data definitions using our AI-assisted internal tooling - specifying what to capture and how to validate it
  • Verify output accuracy by comparing captured data against expected results across a range of app states and scenarios
  • Maintain and update definitions as applications change, identifying and resolving breakages
  • Build and manage a library of test scenarios to support ongoing development and regression testing
  • Document coverage and findings clearly for the wider team

Benefits

  • Flexible hybrid setup between our Trafford Park office and remote working
  • Flexible start and finish times to fit your lifestyle
  • Full home-working setup provided, including desk and chair allowance
  • £100 annual allowance to personalise your home workspace
  • A personal learning and development budget, coach and time set aside to encourage innovation, autonomy, and growth
